Installation /Construction Materials
Post are 5” tops 2.5 CCA treated driven to a min. depth of 4-5’.
Headers, cross braces, and stringers are constructed of 2x6 pressure treated lumber. The treatment on the framing can be upgraded to 2.5 CCA Salt Water Treatment.
Decking is traditionally 2x6 pressure treated lumber but there are other options.
All hardware and nails are hot dipped galvanized to provide long lasting durability.

Trex, Choice-Dek and IPE
TREX decking are made from a unique combination of reclaimed wood and plastic, giving you the best in qualities of both materials. The plastic shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there’s no rotting or splinting. The wood protects the plastic from UV damage and gives your deck a solid, natural feel. It looks great year after year. And Because there is no need to spend hours staining or repairing, the enjoyment of a TREX deck is truly timeless.
Choice-Dek is a composite of recycled wood fibers and plastic polyethylene that last two to three times longer than traditional decking materials. It doesn’t require sealing , staining or treating, is easy to clean and comes in a variety of colors. (Choice-dek)
IPE is an environmentally responsible choice which naturally resists rot, decay, insects, and mold without the use of toxic chemicals used in other decking projects. It is naturally fire resistant and has been awarded an A1 rating. IPE is an incredibly strong, dense wood, harvested from naturally sustainable forest only. It has very high ware durability in daily use, and is resistant to splintering and cracking.
